Stripes Afghan Story
A few years ago, my daughter gave me yarn in colors that matched our favorite lacrosse team. I had some ideas about what I wanted to with it. I had started drawing up some ideas for the stitch pattern. However, I had other projects that I was focused on. They were either gifts or time-sensitive for other reasons. I finally decided that it was time to use the yarn and the Hawk Stripes afghan was born.
To design the Hawk stripes afghan pattern, I played around with some stitches that I had used before and liked and found a way to make them work in my design. The drawing that I had originally done was partially used. But as I worked the yarn up, I realized that it needed to be adjusted. It is a repeating pattern of stripes and the name is drawn from the team. That team with these colors no longer exists but will live on forever in our hearts.
This post is a design of Becca Jean’s World. Find the full Terms and Conditions here.
Hawk Stripes Afghan Pattern
To make your own Hawk Stripes Afghan, you will need 4 skeins of 7 oz yarn in 3 different colors. I used Red Heart Super Saver, with an H hook.
